Wow has this been a long time coming! I think it was 2015 when I decided I really should blog! Ya know if I want to be a true professional photographer....... It really is all about the right place at the right time! It feels like that time is right now! I am entering 2019 with a confidence and know how to back it up that is sure to lead to a successful year! (sorry for the excessive exclamation marks :) But I really am just so excited for 2019!)

Welcome to my very 1st blog post!!!!!!!!

Hello, I am Sheila Johnson, Wife, Mother, Photographer.  23 years ago Kerr Johnson asked me to be his wife. My young dumb 18 yr old self had no idea what I was getting into. 5 kids, 2 dogs, 1 cat, 10 moves (holy crap) later I wouldn't change one minute of it. Well maybe the 10 moves! (I HATE moving, more on that later) Not to say its all been perfect but it has all turned out the way it's supposed to. Kerr and I couldn't be more proud of the children (DEFINITELY more on that later), and of ourselves, and what we have created in these 23 years.

Kerr owns a successful Electrical Contracting company that we built together while making sure the kids made every soccer, baseball, ballet, basketball, track, wrestling, and most importantly FOOTBALL practice/game. We coached where we could and sat on Boards for ALL the things! And just like that 20 years flashed before our eyes. I miss so much of it terribly! But now the kids work for the business, play football in college, and are pursuing degrees that we only dreamed of.

Which has left me with some time on my hands.....

Time Ha! It seems like I should have some, but oh where does it go? Daily question for you too?

I know I have devoted most waking minutes into learning everything I can about Photography for at least the last 15 years, around that busy sports/school/Kerrent Electric schedule of course.

In 2014 I started Studio J Photography, photographing Seniors, families, and my FAVORITE, weddings. In 2016 I joined forces with the Amazing Norah Burrows,  where we specialize in High School seniors. Starting these two businesses has been a dream come true! One that I really wasn't sure I could do!  Somedays I really can't believe that this is what I get to do! I love every minute of capturing these special moments. I am so grateful for the support from my family and friends! I am committed to making them all proud.

I have some amazing ideas for 2019, and cant wait to start sharing them!

Happy New year!
